The Mornington Peninsula is developing as a destination for those excited by sculpture with a number of notable sculpture parks both public and private – including the McClelland Gallery at Langwarrin and Montalto Winery in Red Hill South.

Description of the day’s activities:

The day commences at Montalto Winery with a walk and talk with Neil Williams, curator, to preview the 2017 Montalto Sculpture Award which opens to the public on Sunday 26 February.

This is followed by a visit to a small residential garden in Flinders.

Lunch will be held at The Merricks General Wine Store, and includes a talk by noted sculptor Dean Colls who has produced artworks so strikingly diverse in scale as Rex Australis – the ram's head sited on Peninsula Link, Alexander The Great at the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park, and the delicate White Faced Heron sited in a private house in Flinders.

A visit to a private sculpture park concludes the day.
