Frog Hill is a romantic and productive country garden which has been established over the past 12 years from a simple rural yard. The old home is nestled amongst established trees and offers views toward the foothills of the Otways. Garden beds surround the house and are filled with roses, salvia and many other old-fashioned favourites. Plant species are hardy and drought-tolerant and offer the pleasures of each season. and while the floral displays peak in Spring, this garden is designed to provide year-round appeal. A small orchard, berry house, vegetable patch, fowls and bees are included in this productive patch.
This is a perfect garden for a family visit where there is space for children to stretch their legs, or for a cup of tea with and friend and lazy snooze under one of the large shade trees that adorn the garden. It is a hidden gem and a little slice of rural living on the city edge.
On the open days Kylie Treble will be offering demonstrations and talking about her book 'Connect' which features home-cooked recipes and promotes sustainable living for communities.
The Winchelsea CWA will be providing refreshments, and Chris Tournier from Cottage Farm Nursery will have a plant stall with species suitable for drought-tolerant conditions.
