Visitor Information

The garden entry fee for this season varies from $8 - $15 per adult, $5-$10 for students and children under 18 are free of charge. Please refer to each specific garden opening on our website for specific entry fees relating to that opening.

Friends of Open Gardens Victoria have been sent two tickets that allow two-for-one tickets for two of our general openings. This is handed in at the gate and allows a Friend to bring a guest at no cost on the payment of their own entry fee.

Open Gardens Victoria is a not-for-profit organisation and receives half the entry fee to cover administrative costs. Garden owners keep half the entry fee but frequently indicate that they are donating all or part of the fee to a charity.

To retain the goodwill of owners who open their garden, OGV asks visitors to observe the following courtesies:

  • Open dates - Gardens are only open on the days on the stipulated dates.

  • Owner privacy - As you will be visiting a private property, please do not enter the house unless invited to do so.

  • Etiquette - Do not remove any part of a plant. Keep to paths to avoid trampling on plants. Take away anything you bring with you and do not litter.

  • Children - You are responsible for supervising children and ask that their behaviour does not distract from the quality of the experience for other visitors.

  • Dogs - Dogs (except Guide / mobility dogs) are not allowed in gardens.

  • Parking - Please obey parking directions and ensure others can enter and leave the parking area without inconvenience.

We open a range of gardens in a variety of settings, that may at times contain hazards that you should be aware of before visiting the garden. The icons below will be shown on the open garden listing to indicate hazards to look out for or additional information, such as the availability of toilets at the property.
